The Party Wall etc. Act 1996 applies across Canterbury. Notice under Section 1 or 2 is required when excavating within 3m of a neighbour's structure deeper than their foundations, within 6m where a 45° line from the base of those foundations is undercut, or when building on or cutting into a shared wall.
