Anthracite Porcelain Patio & Paths with Charcoal Grout in Maidstone
A 20 square metre porcelain paving project in Maidstone — a crisp anthracite rear patio, a side passage path and a front entrance path, laid on a full mortar bed and finished with charcoal grout
Another Sterling Project completed in Maidstone — 20 square metres of anthracite porcelain paving wrapping around the property, from a new rear patio off the french doors, along the side passage, right through to the front entrance path. The customer supplied the porcelain on this job and we handled everything else: excavation, sub base, laying and a charcoal grout finish throughout.
The Rear Patio
The main patio sits directly off the french doors — a clean grid of large-format anthracite porcelain slabs finished with charcoal grout. Keeping the joint colour close to the slab gives the patio that seamless, contemporary look porcelain is chosen for, and the subtle stone-effect veining across each slab stops the surface looking flat. Porcelain is dense, non-porous and highly stain- and frost-resistant, so it keeps this just-laid look with nothing more than an occasional wash down.
Side Passage Path
The porcelain continues down the side of the house, turning a previously awkward strip into a smart, practical walkway between the front and back gardens. A neat gravel margin runs along the wall line for drainage, keeping surface water away from the brickwork.
The falls are set so water sheds off the path rather than pooling against the house or the fence line — the kind of detail that matters on a narrow side return where there is nowhere else for rainwater to go.
Front Entrance Path
At the front, the same anthracite porcelain forms a wide, level path to the front door, tying the whole property together with one consistent finish. The dark slabs sit sharply against the red brick and the timber sleeper planters either side.
The paving was cut and scribed around the existing inspection covers, sleeper beds and step, keeping crisp, tight lines through every junction.
